Modern Technology and Recycling/Upcycling
Electroplating sludge, a by-product of surface finishing, contains heavy metals and other toxic substances. These must be recycled or disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner to prevent pollution.
We use the following processes to protect the environment:
- Separate circulation systems for water, acidic, and alkaline media
- In-house water treatment using ion exchangers and chamber filter presses
- Recycling and recovery of metals
- Hydrometallurgical processes
These processes extract metals from sludge, recovering heavy metals such as nickel, copper, or zinc, which can then be reused. We achieve a 90% recovery rate, audited annually as part of TÜV SAARLAND’s environmental management program. - Minimisation of sludge production
We optimize our electroplating processes by precisely controlling process parameters, reducing the amount of sludge produced. - We also use high-purity chemicals to minimize impurities in the process chemicals, further reducing residues in the sludge.
- Use of substitute substances
- We employ electrochemical techniques that generate less or no sludge.
- Use of nanofilters. Nanotechnology is utilized to filter pollutants from electroplating wastewater.
- Energy-saving measures
– LED lighting
– High-tech rectifiers
– Frequency-controlled pumps and bath heaters, utilizing heat exchangers
– Minimisation of defective parts - We employ computer-controlled bath control in our plant to reduce the occurrence of bad parts.
- Optimized current output

By creating our own, new coating procedure for metal surfaces VITALOY®, we have created a special method for the long-lived, absolutely nickel-free finishing of metal surfaces.
Matt or glossy, including combinations with chrome or gold plating, metal parts can now be protected reliably against tarnish and corrosion. Their good opacity and great hardness can even withstand heavy deformation. The surface does not crack and remains protected. This successfully passed a long-term, varied series of intensive laboratory testing.

Our ultra modern, fully automated electroplating plant also enables us to operate as a service provider for surface coatings in other sectors, including e.g. automotive, sanitary, costume jewellery, etc.
All parts up to 15 cm can be finished with chrome, gold, or nickel plating, or nickel-free in our own facilities, reliably and quickly, in three shifts.
